Steven A. Johnson, completed the Illuminating Engineer Society’s two day lecture and educational course on the “Magic of Landscape Lighting”, by Janet Lennex Moyer. The two day educational course was sponsored by and held at French Gerleman Electrical Company in St. Louis, Missouri.
Janet Lennex Moyer is a nationally renowned landscape lighting artist, author, speaker, and founder of International Landscape Light Institute (illi.org) spoke about lighting and the effects caused by LED lighting and understanding the magic landscape lighting offers to clients. Completing this course provides Mr. Johnson advancement in the understanding of landscape lighting design criteria and fundamental lighting analysis in the landscape lighting design process.

Steven A. Johnson, licensed electrician and owner of Southern Lights, LLC, recently attended the 22nd Annual Energy Fair held in Custer, Wisconsin. The Energy Fair is the nation's longest running energy education event of its kind.
Johnson attended a series of advanced hands-on educational workshops on alternative energy solutions: solar energy, wind power, emergency back-up power sources and green building techniques.

Steven Johnson, attended the Electrical Expo developed by the Electrical Board of Missouri and Illinois. He attended two professional development seminars. The topics covered were the most recent revisions to the Unified Ameren service manual, Grounding of Electrical Systems, and a special program through Ranken Technical College of Missouri on AG132, a 3D lighting modeling software.
August 2007
Steven A. Johnson, recently completed an educational seminar for electricians preparing for their Master Electrician examine. The two day seminar held in Paducah, Kentucky focused on reviewing the National Electrical Codes (NEC) for preparing to take the Master Electrician examine.
June 2006
Steven A. Johnson, completed an intensive two day educational course in Lumen Design from the LIGHTFAIR Institute during LIGHTFAIR INTERNATIONAL 2006, an Annual Architectural and Commercial Lighting Trade Show and Conference in Las Vegas. Setting the global standard for lighting design excellence the Illuminating Engineering Society of North America and the International Association of Lighting Designers (IALD) sponsored this event.
Completing this course provides Mr. Johnson advancement in the understanding and use of lighting sources, luminary photometry, lighting design criteria, and lighting analysis in the lighting design process. In addition, Mr. Johnson received important information about federally mandated energy guidelines soon to be implemented by all 50 states.
